Oh yeah! Who doesn’t love caramel? This quick and easy recipe uses canned caramel apple pie filling. Adding apple pie spice really brings out the creamy, rich caramel flavor. Add whipped cream and drizzle caramel sauce over the top. Once you’ve tried this pie it might become your new favorite go-to apple pie recipe. Sweet apples floating in rich caramel? Heavenly!

Caramel Apple pie filling is available from Lucky Leaf and Duncan Hines Comstock. This is one of the more difficult pie fillings to find in grocery stores but it’s well worth the search. I’ve tried both brands and really didn’t notice any difference in flavor or quality. I think both brands lacked spices, which is why I recommend adding the apple pie spice to the filling. Caramel apple pie made with canned filling and a refrigerated crust is a perfect blend of convenience and indulgence. The canned caramel apple filling provides tender slices already coated in a glossy syrup. This creates a rich, buttery sweetness that melts into the fruit as it bakes. The heat of the oven deepens the caramel flavor, giving the pie a warm, almost toffee‑like aroma that feels instantly cozy. It’s a shortcut dessert that still tastes like something slow‑cooked and homemade, with that irresistible mix of tart apples and silky caramel.
Using a refrigerated crust makes the process even easier while still delivering a flaky, golden base that holds up beautifully to the rich filling. The crust crisps at the edges, stays tender underneath, and provides a buttery contrast to the gooey caramel‑apple center. A lattice or full top crust browns nicely and helps the filling bubble through in glossy amber streaks. It’s the kind of pie that looks impressive with very little effort, making it ideal for holidays, potlucks, or weeknight baking.
What really makes caramel apple pie shine is the balance of textures and flavors. The apples are perfectly coated with just the right spices, the caramel creates a velvety sauce, and the crust adds structure and crunch. Every slice feels warm, nostalgic, and just a little decadent. It’s a dessert that tastes like autumn comfort but works any time of year, especially when you want something sweet, familiar, and wonderfully easy.
