Chocolate Pie Recipes

No matter how you bake it, chocolate is chocolate! Chocolate possesses many qualities such as being sweet, bitter, rich, and aromatic. Whether you prefer dark or milk chocolate, there’s bound to be a variety of pies and other desserts that satisfy your craving. Chocolate is used in pie fillings, in crusts, and as a topping. Oreo cookies are probably the best known chocolate ingredient. Crush them into a pie crust, blend them into your filling, or sprinkle them on the top.

A chocolate pie is any pie in which chocolate is the dominant flavor. The most common types include custard, pudding, mousse, or chess pie. In addition to pie fillings, chocolate is used in flaky crusts (cocoa powder) or crumb crusts (such as Oreo or chocolate graham cracker). Whipped to the extreme, chocolate can be transformed into mousse and French Silk, both of which melt in your mouth.
